After the exciting and exhausting process of expanding Jewel-Craft Inc by over 20,000 sqft, we couldn't wait to find a way to show our clients exactly what the new-and-improved Jewel-Craft facility looked like! With the help of our marketing company and their rock-star video production crew, we got started organizing, planning and executing the process. You wouldn't believe how much work goes into these videos!
Phase 1 starts with the overall plan. What do we want to show? How do we want to show it?! In our case, it was not exactly simple considering we wanted to show over 50,000 sqft and countless services and processes! After about 5 rounds of meetings and edits, we worked everything down into one solid outline and an organized shot list.
Then came the big production shoot day...well, two days! Thankfully, we keep our factory so clean you can eat off the floor, so our biggest preparations revolved around ensuring we had projects scheduled in-line with the videographer schedules. Our staff was amazing and accommodating, knowing that this video would become the face of our company.
Day one revolved around action shots, following processes from start to finish and getting as much footage of the overall shop as possible. We had drones flying around inside the factory all day and even did some time-lapse videos of some of our longer processes, like building wax models, overnight!
Day two included finalizing any missed shots from day 1 and, what we all dreaded most, video interviews! While we are certainly professionals in all things jewelry repair and manufacturing, we are not actors or comfortable on camera! After some gentle convincing from the production team, we all settled in and answered their questions. Believe it or not, it actually was not that bad. We had over 15 people from our team interview and there is a good chance everyone might even have said that they enjoyed it!
Once the production shoot was a wrap, we placed our trust in our marketing team to take that footage and turn it into something we could all be proud of. After a few rounds of editing, we were already starting to see the big picture and getting very excited to share it with all of you! Then came some big decisions we didn't even think of! Who should do the voice over for the video? What kind of frames should we show our photos in? It's unbelievable how much detail goes into these videos that we never even thought of.
At the end of the day, we had a lot of fun and learned a lot about ourselves and what it takes to create a video like this. We really hope you enjoy the sneak peek into who we are and what we do out here in Erlanger, KY.
